Syd Entel Galleries is excited to bring the
bold, multidimensional artwork of Russian
born artist Maya Eventov to the gallery. A

She received a master’s degree in graphic design and worked as a
children’s book illustrator upon the completion of her studies.
Looking for more she began to travel and explore the land of her
dreams. Her artwork became a reflection of the many places she
visited, from the roads of Tuscany, to the romantic cafes and
breathtaking shorelines of Spain.

Eventov's paintings are characterized by a thick application of acrylic
paint and using different sizes of palette knives. The paint is applied
as both blended and pure colors. Smaller knives are used to create
depth and detail in her paintings. She uses a series of varnishes to
create a wet paint effect.

In the early 1990’s, she immigrated to Canada,
where she resides just outside of Toronto with
her family. Eventov continues to travel finding
inspiration for her work in varied landscapes
around the world. Her work is represented in
galleries throughout Canada, Great Britain and
the United States.
