Artist Peter Max has a long and illustrious history with the Grammy
Awards, having served as the Official Artist an unprecedented six years.
His gramophone images wowed the music industry with posters,
invitations and program covers. Each year for the Grammy Foundation's
annual MusiCares dinner which raises funds for musicians in need, Peter
donates artwork including an installation of '45' Bono's' portraying U2's
lead singer for The Grammys 45th Anniversary. In 2005, Max painted a
color splashed piano for Ringo Starr. Last year when Beatles band mate,
Sir Paul McCartney served as MusiCares 'Person of the Year', the piano
was donated to MusiCares. It became the highest-selling live auction
item in MusiCares 22-year history. This year Max created a 30"x38" bold
colored portrait of Bruce Springsteen, the 2013 'Person of the Year'.

The Artist is making a special appearance at Syd Entel Galleries on Saturday,
March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd, 2013. Previews begin on Friday, February
22nd, 2013. Max will be unveiling his extraordinary new Masters series,
interpretive works of Vincent Van Gogh, Monet, Pablo Picasso, Renoir, and
Edgar Degas, conceived in Max’s signature style and colors. These works speak
to both a maturation of the Artists’ illustrious career, as well as to his
formidable training at the 130 year old Art Students League of New York.
In addition, Max will be exhibiting his iconic portraiture of celebrities and
luminaries, including two of Taylor Swift’s album covers, Grammy Award
commissions, and the celebrity lifestyle. Also on exhibition and available for
acquisition will be Max’s best loved and world-renowned works.

Recently, Norwegian Cruise Line revealed Norwegian Breakaway’s signature hull
artwork designed by the pop icon. This is the first time Norwegian has
commissioned a well-known artist to paint the hull artwork on one of its ships.
Launching in April 2013, Norwegian Breakaway will be the largest ship to
homeport in New York City year-round. Max’s signature artwork will cover
approximately 40,000 square feet of Norwegian Breakaway’s hull.
