Susan Benjamin Glass Etc. is proud to present the work of
COHN-STONE STUDIOS, the work place of Michael Cohn and
Molly Stone. Located in Emeryville, California on the San
Francisco Bay, Cohn-Stone, since 1972, has been one of the
nation's foremost producers of designer vases, decorative
art pieces and one-of-a-kind sculptural works of art. The
glasswork of Cohn and Stone has been exhibited worldwide
including the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, Australia,
Japan and South America. Their works are included in
numerous museums and private collections worldwide.
Every piece that leaves the studio is personally signed and
dated by the artists, acknowledging that the work has met
their high standards of quality and excellence. In addition to
their own merit as works of art, many of the pieces are
further enhanced by their functionality.
Collections:
Tortoise Shell: This series is a myriad of classic forms and
beautifully bold colors. Not only functional, these pieces
bring elegance and style to any environment. This series is
based on a process created by Michael Cohn in the early
1970's, which has evolved through the years to become what
we see today.
Reflecting Bowl: This series of various shaped bowls appear
as spheres of reflected light. The interiors of these bowls
are gilded with gold, silver or cooper, and lacquered on the
exterior which present to the viewer a richness of color
combined with light.
Tornado Series: A whirlwind of air and light and glass,
reflecting the forces of nature. These large-scale pieces
glow with simple elegance. Contained in a vortex, the
23-karat gold leaf lining radiates a warming glow.
